A Uni Portable Learning Lab, Washington State
In 2013, the Seattle-based Foundation for Early Learning put a Uni Tower into service in Washington State. The Foundation partnered with local organizations (Early Learning Public Library Partnership, First Peoples, First Steps Alliance) to deploy a Uni throughout Washington to promote early learning and support libraries and tribal communities in summer outreach efforts, with a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).
So far this Uni tower has traveled 2,574 miles, hosted 20 events in 7 counties in Washington State, and reached more than 1,500 kids. In 2014, the Foundation for Early Learning has merged with Thrive by Five Washington to become Thrive Washington and will continue using the Uni tower. Follow along here.
We’re proud that a Uni is making a difference in Washington!
